His father, the son of a Palestinian silk and stallion smuggler, and mother, the daughter of a United States Naval Officer, met and settled in Texas to have three children. Of the three, Gussan was the youngest. His pursuits in art led him to the University of North Texas where he earned his Bachelor's Degree in Fine Art Photography. Gussan Jalil is a visual artist working in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. His interests in film and photography spawn from a curiosity to experience the world through different perspectives.
